Furever Friends #306

Mike and I have been very busy this week, but not too busy to talk about some animals that need a good, loving home. Today we get to meet Rolo and Brody.

Rolo is a 4-year-old grey Weimaraner that weighs around 70 pounds. This sweet boy has excellent manners, knows how to sit, lay, and even catch treats. Rolo has been at the shelter for 6 weeks waiting to find a home where he can share a burger and lay on the couch with you.

And Brody, Brody is a 1-year-old brindle and white heeler/border collie mix that weighs just 25 pounds. This fun-loving fella gets along with other dogs and loves to play. Brody has been waiting to find an adventurous family he can call his own for more than a month now.

Since the program started back in 2017, we have talked about 585 pets and have been able to adopt out 583 of them!
The shelter still has a clear the kennels special going on through this Saturday May 4th where all dogs 5 months and older have had their adoption fees waived and they are still receiving all their normal vet care including their vaccinations, spay or neuter and microchip.

You can visit the shelter Monday through Saturday 12-4pm at 220 Peterson Drive in Elizabethtown or if you have any questions feel free to give their office a call at 270-769-3428 and they will be glad to help you out. Furever Friends #304

The shelters first rabies clinic of the year is in the books and they saw more than 330 pets come through last Saturday. They also want to give a shout out to all of our awesome volunteers that showed up to help make this event go smoothly.

Today we meet Keely and Goldie

Keely is a 9 year old tan shepherd that weighs 60 pounds. This sweet girl is the definition of a couch potato at its finest. She will go outside to take care of business but would much rather spend her days inside following you around or lounging while snacks instead of going on long adventures. Keely has spent the last 6 weeks at the shelter patiently waiting to find a forever family.

Goldie is a 6 month old orange tabby with short hair. She loves nothing more than your undivided attention and is quite the chatter box who is more than happy to tell you all about her day. Goldie has been hanging out in our cat condos for the past 2 weeks and is more than ready for a forever family to come take her home.

The shelter is located at 220 Peterson Drive in Elizabethtown and is open to the public Monday through Saturday 12-4pm. You can reach them by phone at 270-769-3428. You can donate directly to the shelter or renew your dog license at hcky.org or view all their adoptable pets at petfinder.com. And don’t forget to check out their Facebook page Hardin County Animal Shelter Elizabethtown for information.

We have adopted 579 of the 582 pets talked about on the show!
